Amplifiers on 8341 vs 8351

Hi,

I'm curious of amplifier power on the new 8341. In particular it puzzles me when compared to 8351; 8341 is advertised to have 250+150+150 W amplifier power, while 8351 has 150+120+90 W, known to be class D, D and A/B. Are the amplifiers on 8341 lower efficiency due to a different class than 8351, or what's going on here?

Hi!

If you look at the important number, acoustic output of the products, you can see that 8341 can play almost as loud as the bigger brother 8351. Amplifier power ratings are just the numbers behind the result. This is achieved with superior acoustical design together with the latest Genelec amplifier technology in D-class. In fact the amplifiers in 8341 are even more efficient than in 8351, the biggest difference is the cabinet volume and driver size. So if you compare the volume vs. acoustic output power, new models have even better performance.
We always design the products to have the best possible output, with best possible quality. Amplifier power is just numbers behind the performance.

Yes, I noticed this. I'm not by no way a speaker designer, but I suppose it demands considerably more power to deliver that amount of good-quality sound from considerably smaller cabinet volume, then? If this is the case, numbers make sense, if not... I'm a bit puzzled. :)
