How to pair moniter in GLM to calibrate the phase of the dual subwoofers?

Hello, Genelec,

Last week, I bought one new 7360 to upgrade my system from 5.1 to 5.2.

My room model is not good enough, so could you help me to understand how to setup method is better?

1. Currently, I position the left subwoofer close to the front left speaker, position the right subwoofer close to the front right speaker.

2. GLM did the great job to output the smooth frequency response about ±3 db for each subwoofer.

TRY I. In the phase calibration process, I select left subwoofer to pair the front left speaker and right sub pair to the front left speaker. The output phase of left subwoofer is -165, the right sub phase is 0.

TRY II. I tried to select the both subwoofers to pair the center speaker, the output of left sub phase is -165, the right sub phase is -90.

TRY III. I tried to select the both subwoofers to pair the left speaker, the output of left sub phase is -165, the right sub phase is -75.

6. BUT, when I test the two subwoofers in same time with REW, the frequency response TRY I/II/III are about ±8 db.

7. TRY IV, When I set the left subwoofer phase is 150, set the right subwoofer phase is -30, the REW frequency response of two subwoofers is very good, is about ±5 db.

Q1, What is the genelec standard methed to select the pair speaker? left sub to front left? right to right? or both sub pair with the center?

Q2, How many speakers could be paired with one subwoofer? for example, could I pair the left sub to front left speaker, and then select the left sub again to pair the center?

Q3, I like the frequency response of TRY IV very much. Could I keep the phase gap of two subwoofers to close the front speaker phase? What is the right and better method to set the multiple subwoofer phase?

Thanks a lot.

Meng

Hello, I did move my subwoofer again. Please help to clarify the method to pair.

Now, there is one 7360 close to the front left speaker, and there is one 7350 close to the surround right speaker.

How can I select the monitor to pair with the subwoofers in GLM? Thanks.
