Hi,

I have a 7370A plus five SAM monitors and so far I have been using the analog inputs of my SAM speakers in my 5.1 system. I would like to build a fully digital 5.1 system using the  AES/EBU inputs. I was reading the 7370A product manual as well as the 9301A product manual and was wondering if I need to purchase a 9301A to sum (bass) signals from main and feed it along with LFE to the subwoofer.

1. When the AES/EBU IN of my 7370A is configured to carry digital LFE (either subframe A or B) does the subwoofer assume the other subframe carries the sum of main channels and does it reproduce that signal (along with LFE) using the set crossover frequency (assuming distributed bass management is used)?

2. If the answer is yes to the previous question, can I just sum the main channels without filtering (FR+FL+C+SR+SL) in my PC's sofware mixing console and feed it along with LFE using separate subframes to the 7370A? I would need to use the LFE +10dB function in the sub I believe. This way I would not need to buy a 9301A but I could use my PC to do the work.
