8341 + GLM, volume knob, low peak output?

Youngling Viestejä: 3 Liittymispäivä: 23.1.2020 Viimeisimmät viestit

Hi, I recently upgraded my 8020d+7050c setup to 8341s (no sub), with GLM and volume knob.   After calibration I am getting peak output of 100dB at 1.1meter, and can see in GLM that even with the volume knob set to 0.0 that my peak output is between -17dB and -10dB, making the 8341s significantly less loud than the 8020+7050 combo I was running before.   Did I do something wrong during calibration, or is this an expected result?   Even at lower output the overall SQ of the 8341s is a huge step up from the 8020s, but I sure would like to get back to at least 106db@1m output if possible.   The room is untreated drywall with windows on one side, 13’x15’x9’, with the speakers 12” from the back wall and 1.1m from listening position.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice.

Best Regards,

‘Paul

Okay, this is a bit embarrassing.  Never mind the previous, and feel free to delete this entire thread.  The input was attenuated.  I am temporarily on analog inputs while waiting for my mutec mc3+usb to arrive and was forgetting that the output level of my dac amp actually matters.  Turning up the volume on the dac quickly fixed the issue.  Apologies for any wasted cycles trying to sort out my question.
