7050B sub + 8330A a bad idea ?

7050B sub + 8330A a bad idea ?

Youngling Viestejä: 3 Liittymispäivä: 5.5.2020 Viimeisimmät viestit

Hi,

I have 8030B monitors + a 7050B sub. Maybe I want to upgrade to a DSP system with two 8330A monitors.

I was wondering if I can keep my 7050B sub, or should this also be a DSP sub for the system to work ?

Kind regards

If you want DSP, you want it primarily on the sub.

So yeah, you'd want a digital sub too. Digital sub with anlog tops would be the better mix.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Do you mean the Genelec DSP sub will also take care of everything above 85 Hz, routed from the sub to the monitors ?

Or do you mean the lows, < 85 Hz, are the greatest problem ?

Kind regards

You can buy a separate DSP for your current system, so you can keep all of your gear.

Hi,

Which separate DSP would you suggest ? I tried Sonarworks, great software, but I can't use that for all my different inputs.

Kind regards

Hello

You can see the products from miniDSP https://www.minidsp.com/ (for dealing with external devices and computer) or ARC2 https://www.pro-tools-expert.com/home-page/2015/10/2/arc-2-vs-reference-3 if you use a computer. In both cases, you need a measurement microphone.

I meant < 85 Hz, there are the greatest problem. 90% of GLM magic happens there.

You can apply the curve sonaworks gives you on the output of your soundcard.

On PC, google for: Peace Equalizer. Should even support VST.

Something similar exists for mac too afaik.
