1030a Sounds OK When Pressing Backplate

Youngling Viestejä: 2 Liittymispäivä: 10.6.2020 Viimeisimmät viestit

Hi,

My beloved 1030a on the left starts to cut bass or gives reduced buzz sound however, if I press slightly on the backplate, it sounds normal. But, after a while same situation cycles again, sometimes not.

No problems with the speakers, I think it is one of the molex connectors or soldered connector problem.

At first I thought it might be the XLR connector, while checking it I realized that the minimal backplate movements bring the sound to normal.

What are your thoughts?

All the best,

Noyan.

I fixed it yesterday. Thanks to service manual and Lou’s video on YouTube helped much.

I disassembled the board and checked the irons, found the broken ones and fixed.
