Genelecs for home listening and music production

Youngling Viestejä: 2 Liittymispäivä: 19.5.2021 Viimeisimmät viestit

Hi,

I'm trying to decide between a few configurations for a normal non-acoustically built living room. The use is mainly for listening but I also produce music as a hobby.

My options at the moment:

A: 2kpl 8350

B: 2kpl 8340 + subwoofer (is 7350 too small for these speakers, 7360 would make this setup approx. 1000eur more expensive?)

C: 2kpl 8340 now and add subwoofer later

D: Anything else in approximately same budget?

Thanks!

Greatday Jejoju, fyi i'm using a pair of 8351B + one 7360 into our 30m² livingroom.

My main listening spot = couch at 2.7m from the monitors.

I can highly suggest the useage of GLM(4) to tame the low and mid low region.

The implementation of the sub solved a rather nasty dip at 65hz.

Take your time to experiment with the sub in order to find the best (hottest) position and calibrate it's phase (vs the monitors) with GLM.

Depending onto how bright your room is, you might use the Caracter Profiler to tame the high end a bit.

Enjoy !

Genelecs is what I use to listen to online radio in my home on a regular basis. This is one of the interesting solutions about online radio today
