How to edit/ finetune the GLM calibration results (?)

I want to setup my home studio which is a surround setup I also use for watching HD movies including surround signals.

My front speakers are Genelec 8260 with a very deep bass potential. Since I did proper room fitting (using lots of acoustic elements from "Vicoustic") I did the GLM calibration with excellent results if it comes to typical Audio - Mastering or just listening situations.

Now I want to use the baseline of the calibrated results for my front speakers but with a little tweak for letting the lower (subwoofer like) frequencies shine when watching some blockbuster movies . I have no subwoofer included in my setup guessing the 8260 are deep enough for mediocre but "good enough" sub ranges

Could someone please explain me which EQ settings I have to change for a higher dosis of subwoofer like frequencies without abandoning the calibrated Mid/ HIgh curve of the 8260 ? Simply put: Shall I set the LF db ranges inside the GLM software back or near to zero ? I see current LF adjustments at -10 > -15 db after SAM calibration.

Hi,

Instead of messing up your flat calibration curve, I would recommend setting an additional shelving filter to boost the low frequencies. Since GLM does not allow boosting at LF, you have to attenuate the HF instead and then turn up the volume, which results in exactly same end result. I would start with -3 dB high shelving filter at 100...150 Hz. Work your way up (in level) until you achieve the desired effect.

It may sound complicated but actually is not! :) Do you have any friend who is familiar with parametric EQ? It is just similar to those devices/software.
