Home studio

Dear forum,
I am considering establishing a home studio as the title says.
I've bought the studio foam for the aquistics, i've already had a few instruments, hardware and mics to use however I am missing the speakers / subwoofer.

I have been looking at 8010A Studio Monitor from Genelec but also considered purchasing the 1237A SAMtm Studio Monitor? Which is better? I like the 1237A better (the looks).

Also should I be going for the 7350A or 7370A sub?

I am pretty new to this, but I wish to get the best possible studio

Also feel free to suggest equipment that I might have forgotten or other speakers/sub!

Thank you so much for all you suggestions

Also I have been looking to get the AIW26B Active In-Wall Speaker for my livingroom. Anyone know how they are? :?:

I found the price on the AIW26B to be a little too expensive, especially taken into consideration that I need at least 6-8 of them in the living room for it to blow it all away

I would really want to avoid getting into a loan, because they are so expensive in Denmark. Taken into consideration that I need my home studio I might want to set the living room project on standby?

Would you recommend the 1237A SAMtm Studio or the 8010A Studio Monitor ?

Hi,

Sorry but are you serious? :o 1237A and 8010A are in totally different league when it comes to size, performance and price. It does not make sense to compare them to each other.

Well I am fairly new to this - so I suppose I am serious? What are the differences in price, performance and size? Please help!

Have you looked at all the documentation available yet? 8010A is our smallest model which will fit to your palm while the 1237A is 680mm tall and weighs a hefty 42 kg. Difference is performance is huge! RRP (ex-VAT) for 8010A is 253 € and 3990 € for 1237A.

Hello..
everyone

I m facing a Home Studio Playback Issues/

I m a novice in the Home Studio world.
I used to play with my dad's set up a few years back and I had a great time and finished some awesome projects.

For the past few years I have been a working DJ and part time at home producer working with (a friend's) set up using Pro-Tools, NI KORE, etc. I recently purchased a Behringer UMA 25s MIDI Keyboard, and installed Home Studio on my PC (XP Pro).

I am also using a NI Audio Kontrol 1 interface (2 channels good for DJing) anyway, i have absolutely no idea what the problem is. I've set up (to the best of my knowledge, which is limited) everything the way it should be, MIDI out are good, audio out good, MIDI in good, and I can record anything I play, but no matter what i do I can't get any sound out during playback.

The Kontrol interface is USB as well and my keyboard controller. When I look through the Help section of HS everything about MIDI seems to describe a typical 5pin MIDI cable set up..

Is this the problem? Can I not use USB cables for my set up? Again I'm very new to at home production and recording, and I could use all the advice/help I can get.. Thanks!!

You can see what other people's studios look like, and based on their design, come up with your own unique design. This usually works by borrowing small details, and from that comes one overall fantastic picture. As a designer, I suggest using https://planner5d.com/use/office-design to create a blueprint of your studio. It is not difficult to use, and you will only be limited by your imagination. And you will spend a lot of time in your home studio. It is essential that you feel comfortable there and like the design.
