Room response
Youngling Viestejä: 8 Liittymispäivä: 6.7.2016 Viimeisimmät viestitCould anyone please tell me how bad or good my results are? Should I bother with more room treatment? Here is response at my listening position. What I concerned about it this dip at 80hz. Peaks are handled pretty well
I have acoustic foam bass traps in the corners and now I'm thinking on making better traps with rockwool, I really don't want to do it cause I'm lazy. So I want to know do I really should to bother with this -7db dip or is it within acceptable range?
Thank you in advance

Can you tell us more about how your room is setup??

I have quite stupid room.
Here are dimensions drawing http://imgur.com/a/yvCu7
And here are some photos:

You're right
Speakers are out of the wall. I managed to shortened the distance for about 2''
Now thay are 11'' from the wall (if measure from the front side, here are the plot:

At this position I'm getting another dip (-4.9db) on the left speaker. Right one looks quite nice.
I tried to move table left and right and figured out this one is to be the best position.
I can't move speakers dead close to the wall cause computer screens will be too much in front of them, and table does not allow me to do so.
My Idea was to build Rockwool (90kr/m3 dencity) panels and place them behind speakers, can it be helpful in this situation?

Jedi Master Viestejä: 340 Liittymispäivä: 6.4.2009 Viimeisimmät viestitMy recommendation after looking at your images would be to raise the speakers above the acoustic foam you have behind them, this will get the speaker closer to the wall and reduce the reflection off your desk, just temporarily put them up there and take a measurement, make sure to angle the speaker so the tweeter is pointing back to your listening position.

Re: Room response
Youngling Viestejä: 8 Liittymispäivä: 6.7.2016 Viimeisimmät viestitWell, that's not where you want to be, what if you sit them on top of your other monitors.......
I tried that too, this dip at 200Hz is a a problem there too. So its not helping to lift them up

How do you think rockwool (90km/m3 density) panel behind monitors can be helpful?
Also in my case, when left and right monitors has quite different response, should this option be checked or unchecked?

Jedi Master Viestejä: 340 Liittymispäivä: 6.4.2009 Viimeisimmät viestitYou are just going to have to experiment, have you moved the mic placement??
I'd recommend just spending a bit of time measuring different locations for both the speakers and mix position...
In Genelec's reading material, 32Kg/M3 absorption is usually specified.. But if you have some 90KG stuff, have a play, this is the true value of GLM, in a few minutes you have real data about what is happening at your listening environment.

Thank you for support Steve.
I'll try to make those panels and post my results here. I tried to move tablee left and right, and tried to move speakers on the table. I can't move listening position backwards cause 80zh dip is getting worse. The only thing I didn't tried is to place table in front of the window. But this will never happen, cause wife is maybe one of the biggest issues in acoustic treatment question hehe

Re: Room response
Jedi Master Viestejä: 340 Liittymispäivä: 6.4.2009 Viimeisimmät viestitBut to be honest, it's looking very good considering your room... How is it sounding??

Re: Room response
Youngling Viestejä: 8 Liittymispäivä: 6.7.2016 Viimeisimmät viestitLooking good, i doubt the problem is caused by your desk, that is usually a lower frequency problem. your problem is around 1.5 kHz which wavelength is about 22 cm, so you should be looking for nearby surfaces to either the speaker or microphone.....
But to be honest, it's looking very good considering your room... How is it sounding??
Thanx Steve
It sounds quite good, I would probably not her the problem without this spectrum

But I have this mental issue when I want to solve this as much as possible

So what could I try to do now? I still have foam on the back wall (behind me), maybe same kind of panels can be helpful there?
By the way, here is one of the pannels that I've build, they look quite nice, much better then acoustic foam I had before. I used Rockwool 90kg/m3 density
