Room set-up / 8351 speaker location

Wondered if you can give me some advice on how to set up my music room. I remember reading somewhere on the internet that where things like bookcases (or in this case CD stands) are placed in a room can affect the sound quality.

Is is best to put the CD stands (with are about 5.5 foot tall by 4 foot wide) behind the speakers or next to the listening chair?

Is is best to have the door behind the speakers (as in the diagram) or have the speakers point in the direction of the wall with the door?

Thanks in advance,
Nicholas

Hi,

Have you looked at our Monitor Setup Guide alread? It includes some very useful information about room acoustics and speaker placement.

It is very difficult to give absolute recommendations based on a room diagram, but I would place the CD shelves behind the listening position and move the speakers closer to the back wall, same wall as positioned in the diagram. The large window will give you strong reflections from the right side so I would advice to place heavy folded curtains in front of it during listening.
