Smaller version of 8351

Hi,

currently im using the Amphion Two18 monitors. Im quite happy with them but they sound too ns10 like and a little boxy for my taste. I tested the 8351 and i really really like them. Ive build a small home studio and decent acoustic treatment but I guess it is still too small(3m x 4,2m) for the 8351 because i have some bad modes in the sub region even after the glm settings.
Which of the other genelec monitors offer the same acoustic quality: Stereo image, openness, accuracy and frequency resolution with reduced bass power?

Thanks!

The easiest solution would be to use GLM to reduce the LF of the 8351. Even 8240's are flat down to around 30Hz in room.

Hi, can you post a picture of your 8351 GLM response to see the modes? If your bad modes are not cancellations then logically the GLM should fix any other frequency problems.
I don't think you room is too small 3x4.2m is quite nice, my room is smaller and I'm working with 8040 plus a KRK Ergo.

8040and 8040 specs are 48Hz to 20kHz why are you saying are flat down to 30Hz?

I would think he means 30hz in room, allowing for room gain to boost the bass somewhat over Genelecs measurements.

I got a pair of 8010's today and they play 60hz flat in my room before starting to roll off.
