Which wall mount for 8351?

Your catalogue is clear about which wall mount should be bought for 8250. (Model no.8000-402.) But even though the 8351 is the same size as the 8250 it is a lot heavier. Can the same wall mount be used?

According to your catalogue, the wall mount for 8260 (Model no. 8260-414) will not work for the 8250. But will it work for the 8351?

I'm about to buy wall mounts for my 8040As. And I would love it if I could keep them if I upgrade to 8351 in the near future. (Or perhaps keep them even for a pair of 8361s - if such a beast ever gets into production.)

Hi,

Thank you for your question, we obviously need to update our accessories catalogue.

Wall mount model. no 8000-402 has a maximum load of 15 kg so it can be used up to 8x50 sized speaker.

Wall mount model no. 8260-414 can be used for 8x50 and 8x40, and should be used for 8351 and 8260.

Hello,

the 8260-414 can also be used for the 8x40!
- you have to remove the mounting plate and screw the speaker direct to the swivel joint with two
cap screws ISO 4762 - M6x12 (NOT included!) and washers.

Wauw, thank you, Klaus, that's what I'm going to do!

I'll love the flexibility of being able to change monitors without having to use different mounts and having to drill new and cover old holes in my wall.

My problem: cannot find a dealer in Europe that still has part Genelec 8260-414B or K&M 24478 in its catalog.
Look like K&M has changed its product line in 2015 and now has a modular system (wall mount and adapter have separate part numbers).

this combination works also well, but the needed screws to mount the Genelec 8351 to the adapter plate (4 pieces M6x14 & 4 washers) are not included!

Hello Knut,

if you need a white wall mount you can take the follwing:

K&M 24481-000-57 + K&M 24352-000-57 for horizontal direction of the 8351A
K&M 24481-000-57 + K&M 24354-000-57 for vertical direction of the 8351A

The following additional parts are needed: 4 pieces M6x14 & 4 washers

I guess it fits if you disasseble it first. But not without it.

Hi,

Just today installed two 8351 wh to wall using these K&M wall mounts, 24481 WH and adapters 24354 WH. Worked well, stable and good quality. Unfortunately had to purchase these as the Genelec mounts for 8351 are only available in black. Wink Ilkka at Genelec!!

Also can confirm that you can route XLR through theše mounts. Might need disassembly, but should actually be easier than the actual installation of these.

As new hifi person I'm truly amazed about the sound of 8351s.
