ISS effects overall sound?

Youngling Viestejä: 8 Liittymispäivä: 24.9.2014 Viimeisimmät viestit
hi,
i have the 8020C, small little wonders :D

it might be my imagination but when i disable the ISS i feel there is a slight change in the tone of the monitors.

when the ISS is enabled, it seems like the bass response becomes a bit higher and mid response a bit lower.
slight compression?

is the ISS located in the signal path?

i also noticed when ISS is enabled there is a loud pop on both amplifiers(woofer, tweeter) when turning on.
not sure it is a good thing in the long run for the tweeter.

of course there is the possibility that i worry too much

Hi,

ISS is not located in the signal path so there is no possibility that it could affect the sound of the speaker. Are you absolutely sure you are using the correct DIP switch and not for example one of the bass tilts which naturally affect the sound?

It is a normal sound which also happens when you turn on the speakers manually through the power switch. It is nothing to be worried about.
