8030b at random clicking off? to high of Spl?

Youngling Viestejä: 2 Liittymispäivä: 3.8.2014 Viimeisimmät viestit
Hello,

i am using two brand new 8030b's with a focusrite interface (shorty upgrading to RME) anyways while producing my right monitor will cut audio with out a click or any audible warning, till i turn down my volume knob on my focusrite then a rather loud pop will occur and it then will sustain audio. Not sure if it is clicking into safety (SPL)? but i find it rather odd that it is only occurring in the one and not both if it was the SPL? :|

Anyone have any idea what might be happening?

Thanks!!
Robert

Hi Robert,

That sounds really strange. There is a protection mode but it should only attenuate the signal, not turn it completely off. How does the LED reacts when this happens, does it still lit in green? Have you tried to switch speakers between channels, it is still the same speaker that mutes itself?

hello,

Yes after further investigation it seems to be cutting the tweeter out, the LED stays green and doesn't appear to change. I have switch it from the right to the left and seems to still occur. Hoping its not defective! :(

Hi,

Unfortunately it looks to be defective. The tweeter shouldn't cut out in any situation. I would advise you to contact your local distributor for a service request.
