Difference in G One & 6010?

Youngling Viestejä: 12 Liittymispäivä: 26.7.2014 Viimeisimmät viestit
Are the G One & 6010 products the same? I can't determine what may be different. Also, are the F1 & 5040 sub different?

Thanks, kev

Hi,

Technically speaking they are almost the same, only small differences for example the LED colour. Finishing options are also different between professional (dark grey) and home audio (black and white) range speakers.

Also, g1 has signal sensing power, which 6010 do not have.

Quote from Genelec 6010A product info.
"It also features Genelec Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS™) circuitry which switches the monitor to standby when no audio input is detected (ErP 2013 Directive)." Same for the 5040 sub. The power indicator LED does stay on as long as AC is applied to the speaker though.

Hi,

It is true that the 'B' revisions of both models have the ISS function. 'A' revisions do not have this function.

In that case, do you recommend turning off power to the speakers/sub when not in use over night? I know that, often the transition from off to on can be the most traumatic for electronic components. Is it acceptable to turn off power at a central location, power strip, rather than individual power switches? Specifically referring to 6010A/5040A setup.

Thanks,

From our experience there is no significant difference whether the speakers are repeatedly turned on/off or kept on 24/7. You can use a centralized power strip or turn them off individually.
