The time has come for us to retire the community forums, but we will keep everything available for reading. There is a lot of valuable content written over the years, and you'll be able to access all of that. However, no new posts can be written, or old posts modified.

Alternatively, if you wish to engage in a community discussion with other people, there are many active forums available. There is also an active, fan managed GENELEC COMMUNITY in Facebook, and many Genelec employees are active in the discussions there.

Genelec speakers are unreliable. The customer service and support is atrocious. Would not recommend them to anyone. Goes without saying will never buy them again in my lifetime.

I have EUR 30.000 worth of Genelec.
Once did one driver stop working.
The repair was swift and under warranty.

I just wrote a long reply to this post but as many times before I clicked on "save" instead of "submit" so the post was saved as a draft but once again my drafts folder is empty...

So I will sum it up briefly:

I've worked with genelecs for ten years and never had any problems with the hardware and I think they build great speakers. Support for hardware, installation and wiring has been superb and Genelec very accommodating. I own a pair of Genelec 8240 with the GLM system today and their software is in awful shape. Their support for their software is also not any good and I don't really think that they want to fix the software either, it feels like they lack a vision of what it could be and instead fails in trying to make it almost usable. I think it needs a complete overhaul. It's not just that it doesn't seem to work very well and is full of bugs. It is also not very good from the start.

But that's just like my opinion, maaan. *submit*
