hi..i own the 7060a sub and my monitors are the unity audio the rocks mk2.
my listening position is at the 38% from the fron wall.(160 cm)
My monitors are sealed so no bass reflex and no sound comes out behind them.their twitter is 75 cm from the from wall and about 125-130cm away from me.My room is well threated with bass traps-panels etc.
I have the sub placed on a auralex base, specially designed for subs.

which is the best way to place the sub?is it ok to place it 60 cm from the wall as genelec suggests??what about placing it closer to the wall?the distance of the 60 cm is from the port, right?what about sub aligning??is it better if the port is placed in a way that is facing me or the side walls?
how can i have better results-fewer phase problems?what do you suggest?

i'll use them with a monitor controller (mpatch 2.1) which has also a sub output.Idon;t know if iam going to to use this output or i ll use another configuration.if i use this sub out i'd like to know which input of 7060a is mono.

I also have another problem.i have a sofa behind me for the customers.the sub are very very high at this position.how can i fix it??is it ok if i place the sub..behind the sofa??if i do this i guess that those problems will be transfered to the opposite wall where nobody is sitting.i guess also that i 'll have phasing problems with my monitors..right??any suggestion??

Hi,

Typically it is recommended to place the subwoofer near the main speakers, right next to the wall behind them (60cm max distance is measured from the woofer/front wall of the subwoofer), about 1/3rd distance (room's width) from the either front corner. But this is very common rule and doesn't mean it would be the perfect place in your room. For better results one needs to take acoustical measurements with a microphone and a suitable software such as WinMLS or Room EQ Wizard. This is the only method to accurately compare different placement options. Orientation of the subwoofer doesn't matter due to the low frequencies (long wavelengths) being reproduced.

All inputs are mono. LFE input has a frequency bandwidth up to 120 Hz while all other inputs have a range up to 85 Hz.

A bass boost near the opposite wall to the subwoofer is a common problem and is due to insufficient low frequency absorption in the room. You mention your room is treated with bass traps but the problem tells me otherwise. What sort of bass traps are there, how are they placed and how many do you have?
