1092A vs 8050B

Hello,

How older 1092A and 8050B compares when used with 8030A? I'm listening music in a quite small room. 8050B can go lower but for me it is not an issue. Are there bigger differences in sound quality, enclosures and technology seems to be totally different. Thanks!

Hi,

Do you possibly mean 7050B subwoofer model instead of 8050B which is a full range speaker?

Sorry, yes. Was browsing 8050A lately and somehow mixed these . So i have 1092A at the moment and was wondering what are the differences. I know 1092A is older, but are there any major advantages to purchase the 7050B. Thank you!

Hi,

1092A is a discontinued model, but in no means a bad performing subwoofer. It has somewhat less LF extension, 33 Hz vs. 25 Hz than 7050B, but then again much higher maximum SPL capability, 115 dB vs. 100 dB. That means it would require at least six 7050B units to match the maximum SPL. I would not recommend changing to 7050B because it could feel as you would downgrade in performance. I would recommend at least 7070A model if would like to upgrade your subwoofer.
