Volume control on 6010B.

Youngling Viestejä: 2 Liittymispäivä: 21.2.2014 Viimeisimmät viestit
Good afternoon, I have very recently purchased my first pair of Genelec speakers seem impressive in natural sound quality, I use them to listen to ambient music and video editing.

The problem is that working on my Mac to a minimum volume, sometimes it is quite high for my taste, there is some method to control it?

Thank you very much.

A greeting.

Hi,

The speakers itself do not have any volume control as they rely that the volume control is being handled by the source device.

I am not sure if I understand your question properly. How have you connected the speakers to your Mac? If you are using the headphone out jack, you should be able to control the volume through the operating system, typically there are even shortcut buttons for adjusting volume. Depending on the other software you are using, there might be additional volume controls there.

There's always the 9000A remote volume control, if the gain controls on the speakers can't get the speakers volume low enough for you.

Since you're a Mac user I'd get an external soundcard, the Apogee One. It's small and beautiful, has an all aluminum volume knob and best of all, your 6010 will sound a hell lot better than using your headphone output on your Mac.

The price is the double to the Genelec 9000 volume control, but you get a built-in microphone with excellent recording quality.
