Thank you for all the years of Community discussions and activity!

The time has come for us to retire the community forums, but we will keep everything available for reading. There is a lot of valuable content written over the years, and you'll be able to access all of that. However, no new posts can be written, or old posts modified.

If you have questions, we recommend you use the Support function on the bottom right corner to contact our Customer Support directly.

Alternatively, if you wish to engage in a community discussion with other people, there are many active forums available. There is also an active, fan managed GENELEC COMMUNITY in Facebook, and many Genelec employees are active in the discussions there.

We are sorry for any possible inconvenience this may cause you, but we hope to hear from you through the other channels mentioned above.

Parts for 8030A

Hello,

I'm in the US and am trying to aquire a replacment woofer for a 8030A. I contacted the rep in the US and was told that these speakers needed to be sent back to the manufactuer to be repaired. Is this true?

For backgound, the woofer sounds like its blown (it makes a "fuzzy" noise at med.-high volume). I found another thread on this forum that suggested that it might be the magnetic sheild rubbing against the actual speaker instead of the speaker itself, so I took a look at that and found nothing amiss. I would like to buy a replacement woofer and change it out myself, but was not able to get a part number or cost from the rep in the US.

Is there any way you can let me know what speaker I need to buy so I can do this repair myself?

Thanks.

Hi,

it is true. We use custom woofers which aren't available any where else. You should contact our US rep again and make a service request.
