10.9 - GLM Issue

Youngling Viestejä: 13 Liittymispäivä: 17.12.2012 Viimeisimmät viestit
Hello,

I have made the mistake of upgrading to Mavericks 10.9. It was free and offered performance enhancements and some useful tools, so I mistakenly took the plunge too early.

I have my system running GLM 24/7, USB to a Fireface UFX with AES out to two 8250a speakers, with the Griffin PowerMate for volume and mute accessibility.

It seems that since upgrading, the 8250a LED's will randomly turn yellow and audio will abruptly stop.
Sometimes the GLM software will hang when this happens, but usually everything runs fine (aside from yellow LEDs and no audio). If it hangs, I have to restart the software. If everything seems to be running fine when it happens, I found that going into GLM, soloing one speaker and then unsoloing it, helps get audio flowing again (and the LEDs green).

I was wondering if there was perhaps something I could do to alleviate the issue, or if I would have to wait for a 10.9 support update?

Thank you very much for your time,
Johnny

Hi,
Same issue hear GLM software freezes speakers randomly cut out. Force quit and restart temporarily fixes the problem but alway comes back 15 - 30mins later

Same setup as above
OS X 10.9 Fireface UFX with AES to 8240 - 7260 & PowerMate MacPro 4.1

LED's turn yellow as above as they cut out also I can see the speakers dropping out in the GLM software. Clicking the play all button in GLM activates all speakers if one is disabled but only if GLM hasn't frozen.

Any help would be appreciated and maybe an ETA on the next 10.9 supported update. If its close i might tough it out otherwise i'll take the time to downgrade back to 10.8.5

Cheers
Brian

For now, as a workaround, I found that setting the system at a relatively high level, then shutting down GLM and using the UFX for volume control works as a stable system.

It's not practical, as from what I understand the lower the AES output the more data is lost, but it works for now :)

I'm facing the exact same problem. I would appreciate guidance from Genelec on how to fix the issue permanently.

Thank you,

Same problem here.

GLM randomly freezes. Have to force quit the app and then restart it.

Hope it gets solved soon.

Ah yes, App Nap. Somehow I thought that it was a feature implemented only for laptops!
I must say I feel like a bit of a dunce for not checking the info pane for the app

This seems to have fully alleviated the issue. Thank you again for your timely support!

All the best,
Johnny
