Thank you for all the years of Community discussions and activity!

The time has come for us to retire the community forums, but we will keep everything available for reading. There is a lot of valuable content written over the years, and you'll be able to access all of that. However, no new posts can be written, or old posts modified.

If you have questions, we recommend you use the Support function on the bottom right corner to contact our Customer Support directly.

Alternatively, if you wish to engage in a community discussion with other people, there are many active forums available. There is also an active, fan managed GENELEC COMMUNITY in Facebook, and many Genelec employees are active in the discussions there.

We are sorry for any possible inconvenience this may cause you, but we hope to hear from you through the other channels mentioned above.

Genelec 1030As w/7050B sub

I have been using a pair of Genelec 1030As as studio monitors and have recently added a 7050B sub to complement these. It certainly does provide lower frequency representation than the 1030As alone.

Unfortunately, I learned that the 7050B doesnt have a HPFto cross over the 1030As. In discussing with Genelec they advised that I would be suited best to engage the bass rolloff controls (it has values for -2, -4, -6 & -8). I have turned all four on.

I'm interested in any perspective on not only how best to set the controls (any/all) with this setup, but also thoughts on how well this setup will work and how i might understand and mitigate (as best as possible) any issues.

thanks in advance,
ilkka-rissanen, muokattu 9 Vuodet sitten.

Instead of turning all four on, I would suggest engaging only one at the time. You should try -6 dB or -8 dB setting and listen which one sounds better. Please also pay attention to the phase setting.
