8040 + Genelec 1094A Good match?

Hello,
I like the lowend on 8040 but still I thinks its easier for me to monitor and match the subbas of my tunes to big PAs if I use a subwoofer. I know the best choice is 7070a or the 7060a, but these are out of my budget right now. Now Ive spotted a second hand 1094a. Is the 1094 a good match for the 8040? Tt seems to go down to 29 hz compared to the 7050 going down to 25hz, but seem to handle higher pressure better. And even compared to the 7070 and 7060 it handles high spl in a similar way?

Regards
Per

Hello Per,

Yes, the 1094A is a very good match for the 8040A. It has a 15" driver so it will handle very high SPL, actually higher than 7060B (10") or 7070A (12"). The difference to the newer 7000 series subwoofers is that the bass extension isn't quite as good, but still very sufficient. Remember that 29 Hz is measured in an anechoic environment so the real extension in a room is better than that.

*Thanx for your answer:) Sorry for med the 1094 was sold. So now I have the chance to buy the 1092.
How about the 1092a. Is it a good match with the 8040? It has two 8" cones, dont go as low, but play pretty loud.

Yes, the 1092A will match with the 8040A. It was originally meant for the 1030A which has equivalent performance to the 8040A.
