8040 and decoupling

Youngling Viestejä: 9 Liittymispäivä: 24.2.2011 Viimeisimmät viestit
Hello,

I have the 8040 and I'm building a small speaker stand from MDF on top of my desk to get the right hight and I ask myself if should add some further decoupling. The manual says that the Iso-Pod also decouples the speaker from a surface against colouration. That means the 8040 don't need or benefit from additional decoupling? Maybe it's even negative with the impulse response in mind?

Thanks for this informative forum and best regards

Hello,

Yes, that is correct. The Iso-Pod™ (Isolation Positioner/Decoupler™) decouples the speaker from the surface below and therefore doesn't need any additional decoupling. The speaker stand should be a sturdy one so that the speaker sits there firmly.
