GLM App for IPAD ?

Dear Ilkka,

is there any chance that we see a Genelec GLM app for the IPAD any time soon, that sort let's one control the GLM software on a second PC or MAC via Wifi, like volume control, etc. ?

It would be great to have the GLM as an iPad and iPhone-app, but I've used VNC hooked up to the Mac running GLM with great success.

Here is a free app : http://itunes.apple.com/se/app/mocha-vn ... 84448?mt=8

Hi Marcus,

heard about VNC. Apprears to be an app like others that let you mirror you desktop on an IPAD, etc.. Problem can be as I understand it, if the mirrored desk top is much bigger than an IPAD, say 1080p. Then you need to sroll alot or probably mirrow best a desktop at 768x1024, the IPAds native resolution ? If only I had a chance to test it and get a feeling how it works in daily life.

So far I assume that Genelec did not reply, as they probably do not see the need for such a remote GLM possibility...

Ultimatively, I would love a split screen "APP", showing GLM fader on the side and on the rest the music library....

Dear Andreas,

We are of course looking at the possibility of making a such application, but for now I don't have any news. :)

Hi again!

The resolution on the host computer is as you say most often a bit bigger than the iPad's, but in my opinion it is quite easy to scroll with just an ordinary iPad-swipe, and use a pinch to zoom, etc..
I use the VNC to Mac connection (with OS X's support in screen sharing for VNC clients) on a daily basis, both to remote starting of ProTools sessions with different memory locations and for changing volume in GLM, on two different host computers.

If you're using Windows you could use the VNC server software, I think that too is free, so it is really easy to try it out and get a feel for it, and see if you could work with that solutions until Genelec releases a GLM iPad app. :)
Just hook up the iPad to the same network as the host computer and put in the host computer ip-address..

All the best
Marcus.
