Not enough bass...1094a

I just finished setting up a small HT system for the spare room but don't seem to be getting enough bass on the Genelec 1094a.

In the current system I'm using the following:
Meridian G68 Surround Processor
Pioneer Elite BDP-09 Blu Ray Player
Furman IT Reference Surge Protector
Genelec HT208 (L/R)..17feet from the listening position
Genelec 1094a sub...7 feet from the listening position

The Surround Processor is linked to the 1094a sub via XLR for Sub in and the Sub out on the Meridian.
In the Bass Management settings i selected the following:
Music - Crossover 80HZ LFE low pass filter 100HZ...main speakers: small, subwoofer: mono
2 Channel move Logic - Crossover 80HZ ...main speakers: small, subwoofer: mono
Multichannel Movie - Crossover 80HZ...main speakers: small, subwoofer: mono

On the Genelec 1094a I set the sensivity to -6 and flipped the dip switches to: -4DB (off), -2db(off), phase = 270 degrees.

I can hear the bass but only a fraction at what it should be. Even when the volume is turned up *well past 80 mark..the mains are loud but the bass is not.

Is there anything else that I can do?

Do you own any "LFE" Test disk, like signals on the AVIA DVD ?

phase = 270 degrees.

I do not know the 1094a, but why is Phase set to 270 and not to zero ?

Distance delay compensation is done by the Meridian set up menu, right ?

I saw a review of the HTS4b on and the reviewer set this sub to 270 degrees.

My sub is 7 feet away from me with the port facing the display.

Yes Meridian has distance algorithm the ability to match the sound to the exact listening position.

I own the Meridian 565 and 561 processor. It has phase tests build in, I'm not sure, but I also think for subwoofer. The G68 should have as well. so when you have distance delay set via Meridian in "feet" correctly, 7 for sub and 17 for mains, I think you should try phase of zero.....maybe it makes a difference....give it a try.....

Does the G68 also have sine wave test signal for the subwoofer....I think so, check the G68 manual for speaker setup/internal test signals. That way you should be able to create a sub sweep and check, if the subwoofer gets a good signal from the processor....That would be a good point to check from further.

Edit: do you own/have any SPL Meter ? Radio Shack ?

Thank you Andreas..you're correct there was a db level in software for the speaker setup which I was able to increase the bass. It sounds incredible now!!! I will now look into getting either a 2nd 1094a or (2) HTS4B for my room.

Do you still run the sub with 270 degrees phase. Phase value depends a lot about the room, positioning of the subwoofer and your main speakers. At least please give a shot for zero degrees phase and correct the phase if needed.
