Hello I bought the 8250th monitors GENELEC DSP is connected via AES / EBU mode singlewire and have one question every time I turn on the monitors without music to play in silence or with the volume at zero they make a kind of blow that comes by twitters and the woofers and this normal?
It becomes annoying and even a kind of breath that you hear down and work on a mix of music for example in high frequencies generates confusion because you feel this kind of blow especially with the fresh ears clear that after a while this species but it continues to blow my ears are no longer perceive
I need help in relation to this my doubts

thanks greetings

Hi,

Is there any way for you to record this noise and send it to me as wav/mp3?

Have you tried unplugging the signal cables from the speakers and see if the noise changes?

I already tried disconnecting the cables and connect the monitors but the noise remains the same what I do is record the sound and sends it by e-mail.
Shipping to which e-mail?

thanks

Hello,

I received the files and listened them, but unfortunately I can not hear anything but random background noise in them (both files). I even ran them through a high resolution spectrum analyser which didn't show anything strange noises either. Did you self listened the files and made sure that they had the correct content?

I think, Paulo is talking about the amplifier noise.
I got my new 8250s today and the random noise that is probably generated by the amplifiers indeed is considerably higher than that of my 8040s. Of course I am aware of the fact that 8250s have bigger amplifiers, but right now for the first time having set the 8250s up I am a bit confused as well - I have a very quiet studio so the loudspeakers are quite noitceable when there is no music or music played at very low levels.
I am not sure whether there is a difference between the noise of 8050s and 8250s (there should be no difference I suppose?), I will check that tomorrow with a pair of 8050s.
I can understand that once you notice this noise and start concentrating on it you can get obsessed and unable to follow your work..

OK, I now have a direct comparison between 8250 and 8050.
As a matter of fact: The random noise of the 8250s is much louder than that of the 8050s.
Why is this??
