Hi,
I have been using a pair of 8030A for the past few years and I love them. Few weeks ago I decided to get the 7050B to widen my bottom end a bit. Today I received the 7050B and hooked it up and the result is a very unpleasing low end. I mean no definition just boomy.I sincerely hope that the set up I did is dead wrong and I need help to make it work. my room is not perfect but it is reasonable. Just added Just invested $3000.00 in in Real Trap sound control material. The bass does not have presence now it is just like rolling everywhere. I have added 2 photos to give an idea about placement. The only thing I did in the set up is the following:
8030A----------Set the bass roll off "switch 2" to on.
7050B-----------Set "switch 5" to on
Everything else on 8030's and 7050B are set to off.
Is my setting ok what can I do to improve the bass response.
room is 14' x 14'
Desk is about 28" from front wall, 7050B is 4" away from front wall
let me know if you need more info.

Thank you...

Hi,

Three things I would try first:

1) Turn the subwoofer other way around so that the woofer is pointing at your feet instead of the back wall.

2) Lower the subwoofer's input sensitivity. Turn the knob (use a flat head screw driver) counter-clockwise for lower gain.

3) Employ the bass roll-off dip switches. Start with -2 dB roll-off and work your way up to -6 dB until you find the setting that sounds the best.

Hi,
I followed your suggestions and the sound has improved a thousand fold. I am going to tweak it some more to fine tune further. If there is anything else you would like to add please let me know. Will keep you posted on my findings.

Thank you...
