Alternatively, if you wish to engage in a community discussion with other people, there are many active forums available. There is also an active, fan managed GENELEC COMMUNITY in Facebook, and many Genelec employees are active in the discussions there.

We are sorry for any possible inconvenience this may cause you, but we hope to hear from you through the other channels mentioned above.

Hello, At the begining I apologise for my english. Im not a native english speaker.

I own a pair of 8030a speakers. I'm not sure if i have a problem or not.
When i play them loud , they farts (when woofers playing bottom end) . Both in the same way, and at the same level of volume. And now i'm not sure if this is normal thing ( i mean Do I run them too loud?) I run them throw my Edirol fa-101 firewire audio card. How can I check if there is something wrong with em?
Please give me some advise. thanks.

Hello,

Based on your description, I would say your speakers are fine. The 8030As are still fairly small speakers and it is possible to overload them with high SPL and especially low frequency signals. Also if the signal contains only low frequency and not much top end, there's not much masking effect which also causes the overload noises to be more audible.

Can you send me (firstname.surname@genelec.com) a sample (wav or mp3) clip of the signal that is causing the overload to happen.

Hey, thanks for reply.

I think theres no point to send you a sample, as its get distorted no matter what source of signal i use ( it might be a DAW, mp3 player or CD player) It just happen whenever i reach some level of volume and it is always bottom end, mostly Kick drum, Both (speakers) distortions sounds the same. What do you think? Can i be sure that my speakers are fine? thank you
