Hi, i just ordered an 7050 to complement my 8020s, and i have a quick question about connecting them together.

I run a stereo system and thus haven't got an LFE output from my source. If i connect the stereo left / right to the 7050's front left / right inputs, and then the outs to the 8020s, will any crossover in the 7050 make it handle the < 85 hz audio, and return the rest to the 8020s, or how does it work?

Thanks for your post and question. First, the connection scheme you describe is perfectly correct for the 7050B and 8020A/B. Further details on that connection scheme can be also found from our FAQ under: ... 50b-8020a/.

Another source of information for such an issue is our Quick Setup Guide:

Technically the filtering in your system works as follow: the 7050B has been designed to complement a pair of 8030A or 5 x 8020A/B. On the 8030A / 8020A/B there is one DIP switch (switch 2 - Bass roll-off) that sets the high-pass response of the loudspeaker to complement the low-pass energy (below 85 Hz) reproduced by the 7050B. In short half the filtering is done by the 7050B and half by the 8030A / 8020A/B.

Concerning the LFE channel that is not part of a stereo system, no problem there. Only the channel connected to the 7050B bass management system will be handled.
