Thank you for all the years of Community discussions and activity!

The time has come for us to retire the community forums, but we will keep everything available for reading. There is a lot of valuable content written over the years, and you'll be able to access all of that. However, no new posts can be written, or old posts modified.

If you have questions, we recommend you use the Support function on the bottom right corner to contact our Customer Support directly.

Alternatively, if you wish to engage in a community discussion with other people, there are many active forums available. There is also an active, fan managed GENELEC COMMUNITY in Facebook, and many Genelec employees are active in the discussions there.

We are sorry for any possible inconvenience this may cause you, but we hope to hear from you through the other channels mentioned above.

Input sensitivity 1031a with Apollo, Dangerous Source

Hello!

How should I set the input sensitivity of my 1031as?

I'm using them with a Universal Audio Apollo (max output level +20.2 dBu) and a Dangrous Music Source monitor controller. (max output > 26 dBu.) I alternate between using the AES input of the source (and hence the DA of the Source) and the analog input of the Source (which is being fed from an analog console.)

In accordance with the Genelec documentation, I've placed the monitors on heavy stands behind the console bridge, and very close to the wall (the monitors are canted in at 30 degrees, and the inside corner is about 1 cm from the 4" OC 703 panel on the wall.)

In case it matters, I just got a 1092a which I am adding to the system. I'm working on calibrating everything but I figure it's best to get the 1031as optimized on their own, then add the 1092a and set its level and polarity accordingly.

Application: Music studio

Room size: 33' x 13' x 7'

Thanks!
