Front volume gain with 8130A + 7261A

Hi guys

Iv just got my hands on the SE system with 8130A + the 7261A subwoofer

Im wondering, as the 8130's have a volume gain on the front of them, what is the correct position to have this set at when using the accoustic DSP?

Im assuming that i should set the level and then calibrate the system, is this right? Or is this room dependant?

Thanks!

Hi Nic,

If you mean GLM, you can turn the volume gain to maxium from both of the speakers, and GLM can set the level gains and room corrections automatically.

Hello Nic, I have exactly the same system as yours. If you use sub in your setup, you need to feed digital AES/EBU singnal into tne sub and then send that digital signal back to 8130s. In this scenario front volume potentiometer on the 8130s has to be on the maximum. I was bought GLM package and Griffin PowerMate (which I connect to my Mac over USB) and use it as a volume controller for my Genelec system. You can use Genelec Volume Control for GML as the PowerMate is not in the production any more. Hope that helps. You can contact me at banemicic@yahoo.com if you have any additional question. Best regards, Branislav
