beep after switching off

Hi,

My setup is:
2x 8330
1x 8230
1x 7350

Connected to an Oppo BDP-105, XLR-Output.

When switching off the Oppo, there is a loud rumbling bass noise. I guess this has nothing to do with the Genelecs. It comes from the Oppo.

Round about 5 seconds after switching off, the Oppo goes to sleep mode. Another second after this happened, there is a  one or two second beep generated in the 8330 . I searched the manual and the forum but could not get any information about this beep. It sounds like a warning signal. Do you have any idea what it could be?

What makes me wonder is, that this beep did not happen in the past while the Genelcs were connected to my Denon AVR. Also I did not notice the beep, while the Genelecs were connected to the RCA-output of the Oppo. It appears after I connected them using the XLR output of Oppo.

Do you have any idea?

Thanks, Uwe

Hi Uwe,

Thanks for your question. Genelec monitors do not generate any warning beeb signals, the signal must originate from the OPPO.

Dear Ilka,

Thans for your answer. Can you confirm that even the GLM-adapter ist not producing any warning sound (Beep)? The 8330 and the GLM-adapeter are very close to each other so it might be possible, that the beep is not located correctly.

Best, Uwe

Hi,

The GLM network adapter box does not produce any sounds either, there is no speaker inside it. I still believe it is the OPPO device which creates these noises and sends them to the signal lines.

That's what I thought as well.
