Genelec VESA adapter incompatible with 8330A?

Youngling Viestejä: 9 Liittymispäivä: 9.9.2017 Viimeisimmät viestit

As you see in the pictures below, it seems like Genelec VESA adapters are incompatible with 8330A. If I mount it properly, the GLM network cables get in the way. So I have to mount it upside down. But now it covers the bass reflex port.

Is it ok to cover the bass reflex port like this? would it degrade the sound quality? Making the bass booming is the last thing I want.  It defeats the whole purpose of getting a SAM system.

The 3rd & 4th picture shows what it would be like to mount it with the VESA adapter upside down. According to the manual, I should have at least 5cm clearance between a wall and the reflex port. But this is more like 1~2cm. I would very much appreciate your help on this. Thank you so much.

Hello,

Sorry for late reply! It is not recommended to use VESA adapter upside down. It is possible to use it correct way by first connecting the network cables, and then adding the VESA adapter. It is not perfect fit, as there will be some pressure on the network cables but it is possible to use VESA adapter while network cables are connected this way.

Thanks, Jani. I thought about mounting it with a little pressure but I was afraid of breaking the port or making it loose in the long run. But since I have your confrimation I'll do that. Thank you so much.
