Placing an F Two subwoofer on a shelf?

Youngling Viestejä: 1 Liittymispäivä: 10.2.2013 Viimeisimmät viestit

I'm building a home theater and renewing some furniture at the same time. I am considering a cabinet to the front of the room that would also have a place for a F Two sub.

Will it affect the acoustics if I place the subwoofer on a shelf (couple of centimetres thick, placed on the floor) instead of directly on the floor? The cabinet is about 40 cm tall and both the front and the back are open.

Thanks in advance.

Hi!

This mounting should not cause any big problems. Usually the first issue that may result is the shelf structure vibration, that can cause extra noises.
