7050b horizontally

Hello everyone, I'm new here, this is my first post. Forgive me if I am wrong category.

So here, I currently have a pair of 8030bpm which I am very happy. I would like to upgrade to 2.1 with a 7050b.

But the problem is that I'm in a small room and the only place I have left for a subwoofer is under the desk.

The problem is that I have 37cm of space under the desk, and the 7050 is 41cm.

So I was wondering if putting a subwoofer horizontally was not going to be a problem. I heard that there could be phase problems.

Can someone inform me on the subject? Is it a heresy to do that?

thanks in advance.

i havent tried it myself,

but have no doubt that horizontal doesn't make a difference.

subs radiate full 360 degrees, probably wouldn't make a difference if you had it facing the wall.

Thank you for your reply.

Yes in fact, I realize that my question is stupid, anyway the low frequencies are omnidirectional.

But the sub Genelec use a technonology that is different from other speakers ("Laminar Spiral Enclosure (LSE ™) Technology") and I'm not sure how that behaves compared to another sub.

You will have no issues with the sub placed horizontally, i'd recommend that you place it with the port facing up and the I/O nearest the floor.
