Sacrilege! Mixing audio brands

Short story:
I've inherited a Genelec 7050B active subwoofer.  I'm in Philippines and have zero opportunity to acquire matching Genelec speakers.  I'm looking for info about pairing this component with other components I have.

Long Question:
I use an ipad or laptop for original audio signal - stereo, unamplified. (A)

I have XLR inputs for my Peavey portable DJ rig (powered). (B)

The 7050B hase 5 XLR inputs and outputs: FL, FC, FR, RL, RR (5 in, 5 out) (C)
The 7050B has one XLR input for LFE low frequncy effects. (D)

Can I send (A) to (C) in, and then (D) out to (B)?

(Unampilified source --> XLR inputs on 7050B --> XLR O=outputs on 7050B --> Amplified rig)

Are the (B) outputs unamplified?

Will I blow up anything? Will I set fire to my home and be left to wander the streets?

Is there a better alternative?

Many thanks for humoring the newbie!

well, if your using the output of an ipad or a laptop as analogue source, it doesn't really matter what you do with the signal.

you might just as well drum pots and pans your garden naked and on fire.

you'll want some sort of volume knob. palmer monicon or whatever.

go into FL and FR input of the sub, go out L and R output to amplifier of your tops.

the sub will filter out everything below 85 for the output, unamplified line signal, same as in.

LFE input is just for surround, ignore for stereo.

cheers from equally humorous old fart.
