Question about 8341 digital Setup

Hello,

Just recieved new set of 8341 and have some questions regarding setting them up via digital AES output from Universal Audio Apollow 16 mkII.  I've never used digital speakers before.
I have the AES output going from Apollo 16 to first speaker, then AES through connected to input of second speaker.  Monitors are powered on and digital volume control is up on apollo, but I'm not hearing any audio through speakers.

Do I need to flip digital switch on speakers so they recieve digital input from AES?   For instance flip switch on Left speaker to Digital A and right speaker to Digital B ?

Also, is it necessary to adjust the rotary level control or leave things default?
