5x 8010 + 7X50?

Hi everyone,

I'd like to make a mini 5.1 system with 5x 8010 + a sub. The only sub "made for" 8010 is 7040, but it's only stereo, not surround. For surround the minimum is 7050/7350.
Unfortunately on 7050 manual, in Crossover chapter, there is written: Due to the input sensitivity of the 7050B subwoofer, it can only be used with Genelec 8020A, 8030A, 8130A, 1029A, 2029A and 2029B active loudspeakers.

Does this mean that 5x 8010 can't be connected to 7050/7350? If so, is there any possibility to make surround with 8010?

Thanks a lot.

Hello!

You can use 7040A with 5.1 system, if your pre-amplifier has an LFE output, you can set the monitors from the pre-amplifier settings to "Small", and then all frequencies below 85Hz will be played by the subwoofer. Please check the manual of your pre-amplifier/sound source for more information.

However, for 5.1 it is recommended to have an slightly bigger subwoofer, and our latest model 7050C can be used with 8010A's, and it also supports 5.1 connections.

You can find more information of this subwoofer from link below:
