I have a SAM 83xx setup with a GLM usb device. Can the GLM be connected in middle of the network chain or does it have to be at the beginning or end?
E.g. LS speaker - L speaker - C speaker - R speaker - GLM - RS speaker

According to the documentation the brains are always at the beginning, or at the beginning and the end. The other port is for terminating a long network, ie. making it a ring; Other than that, there's no set order. This means that if you link your LS and RS speakers as well, you should be set...

I have seen a "split box" that made it possible to split the chain to a star net instead of daisychaining. I haven't seen a price or a modelno though. This was at a genelec event so it was a real thing. Not a DIY
The protocol is for me unknown but ill guess its rs422/485. I it works fine to split except if you use really long cables and/or significant different length of them.
