Looking at the 8341 (and 8351) and wondering if the digital output of my Apollo X4 would work if I get a HOSA Optical Toslink SPDIF to AES Converter Box  (Hosa ODL312) - will that box do the trick for digital connections? Any downside?

Also, debating between the 8341 and 8351 - these are for my home studio/overdub room. It's a relatively small space so thinking the 8341s make more sense. What's the best way to determine which?

Yes, it'll work, with the audio interface in S/PDIF mode. I have an ODL-312, no downsides I can think of; It's a nice little box. Built like a tank.
