How to control the volume from two places?

I have read another thread on this subjects. Was wondering if there are new workflows for this situation.

How to control the volume from two places. I have a mixing studio which I also use as a home theatre. I control the volume from my mixing desk with a Genelec 9310A wired controller. From the back seats during movie time I like to control the volume with another controller. Would be nice to use a iPhone or iPad. Using VNC or as a midi controller via something like TouchOSC. In either case it's not possible to use the fader (GLM software) at the same time if the 9310A is connected. I used to have the wireless controller of Genelec. Couldn't get used to it because the buttons didn't gave me real control over the volume. Pressing 0.5 dBs instead of a slider or knob.

Any ideas for future solutions use on this matter?
