Advise on 8320 to 8030/G three

Hi,

I am wanting to build a 2.0 system and would like to get your opinion on speakers.

I am considering going for 2 x 8320(with GLM kit), or 2 x 8030/Gthree for almost the same price.

Since I'm in Japan and the living room is only around 3 x 2.8 meters and is 2.4 meters in height.

8320 is just enough I guess, and GLM kit should work well in such a limited room.

But I also read that a bigger speaker will sound better when listened at low levels because ears are less sensitive to low frequencies at low listening levels.

And my listening distance is around 1.7 meters, very close to the critical distance for 8320.

Can you please suggest which will sound better:

small speakers with SAM (8320), or just speakers with bigger woofers (8030)?

(8330 or 8331 might be better choices I guess, but they are a little bit too expensive for me)

Thanks so much!

Hello, I have the 8020 in 0,5 meters distance and a 7050 sub. The room is similar to yours in dimensions. My humble suggestion is to go certainly for the GLM from the beginning. I have a DSP in my other system and the difference is noticeable. Then, the 8330 will be better solution for 1,7 meters distance, especially if you want to listen louder and clearer, compared to 8320. As a next step, you will be surprised if you buy the proper subwoofer, as I did. So, if you can buy a pair of 8330 with GLM, you can upgrade them later with the matching subwoofer (which is powerful and compact). You will not regret it :)

Seems very right.

I will actually save a bit more for 8330. Thanks so much for your suggestion.
