Thank you for all the years of Community discussions and activity!

The time has come for us to retire the community forums, but we will keep everything available for reading. There is a lot of valuable content written over the years, and you'll be able to access all of that. However, no new posts can be written, or old posts modified.

If you have questions, we recommend you use the Support function on the bottom right corner to contact our Customer Support directly.

Alternatively, if you wish to engage in a community discussion with other people, there are many active forums available. There is also an active, fan managed GENELEC COMMUNITY in Facebook, and many Genelec employees are active in the discussions there.

We are sorry for any possible inconvenience this may cause you, but we hope to hear from you through the other channels mentioned above.

Hello!
I use a GenlecĀ 8030 rack-mountable for making electronic music at home.
My room has a volume of 41m3 and the conditions for placing monitors are very limited.
I have calculated 2 monitor positions that I have been shown to be the most beneficial, between home comfort and sonic honesty.
In the attachment, I indicated 2 locations:
1. Monitors are positioned wider for better stereo and more open sound, but the sound is washed out by being close to walls.
2. Monitors are located farther from the walls (1m), but at the same time they are located closer to the listener and name a narrower stereo picture.

Please tell me which option should I choose?
Maybe you can correct my setting and tell me how to switch the -db toggle switches.

I will also add that I do not have a subwoofer and it is very important for me to keep at least some low frequencies.

Thanks a lot!
