8331A makes a loud internal "click" when using AES input

Considering how distinct this noise is across multiple monitors I assume it is intentional behavior, but I recently switched to using an AES source with my 8331s and there is now an audible metallic "click" generated inside each speaker housing every time they are power cycled or come out of ISS standby.  Note that I am not talking about noise generated from the speaker drivers or mains, it literally sounds like an internal relay of some sort that trips when a digital signal is detected.

This noise is not present at all when using an analog source and power cycling / coming out of ISS standby.  I have attempted to permanently set the signal to digital instead of automatic inside of GLM, but the relay noise still occurs every time.  Is this GLM setting not working as intended or does this relay have to trip every single time when a digital source is being used?

Thanks!
