F Two remote control issues

Hi, I've recently purchased an F-Two along with a pair of G Threes for my TV.

My problem is with the 9101A remote control just not working properly. The volume control buttons work, but not all the time, like sometimes I can turn the volume up no problem, but then if I try to turn it down it won't react, or takes a few presses to get going. The mute button hardly works - I have to press it at least 5-10 times to get it to mute or unmute. The power button doesn't work at all, and neither do the < > select buttons.

I have connected the included IR receiver and placed it right under the TV in clear view of the remote. I've also tried changing the battery. I've even tried turning off my WiFi router, the result is always the same. Is my remote faulty?

On a related side note, has anyone successfully set up an LG TV magic remote to work well with the F Two? This could be a nice workaround to my remote issues. So far I've set the device "brand" to Philips, and it works, but it's frustratingly slow and laggy to change the volume. My TV is LG OLED55C9PLA.

Right now the only way I can reliably control my volume is by connecting the F-Two to the 3.5mm headphone output on my TV, which gives me internal volume control, but I'd much rather be using optical.

Hello,

Regarding the 9101 remote controller, please contact us at service@genelec.com and lets get that sorted for you. It sounds like there could be issue with the remote controller itself.

Pairing with TV's remote controller, could you try to set the device "brand" for something else and see if it works better? I've heard from one customer of our that it worked when set to "Sonos", but I do not have personal experience from that so I can't confirm.

Let me know if you get it sorted, and we are interested to hear how it went.

Best Regards,

Thanks for your reply, setting the brand to Sonos does indeed work well so I'll be using that.

How can I reset/clear the IR matching? I made some mistakes and now the mute button on my TV remote changes the input, for example. I've tried following the procedure in the manual to delete settings, but it doesn't seem to work, I can override a setting with another button, but not clear it.

You can reset your subwoofer to factory settings by pressing the power button for 10-15 seconds. This returns the volume setting on the remote control to factory level and deletes possible remote control pairing and IR remote control matching. Also the source selection returns to auto- matic, which is the factory setting. After this you will be able to match IR remote again from scratch.

Hi, I received the replacement remote control today. Unfortunately this one has similar problems and if anything seems even worse. Volume down seems to work okay on single press or hold. Volume up works sometimes on single press and never on hold. Select left seems to work. None of the other buttons work.

Has anyone tested these remotes?? I'm not sitting far away from the F-Two and have line of sight with both the sub and the IR receiver.
