Genelec 8351b/8361a for studio and “audiophile” use?

so i have heard genelec use quality dac and amps and with the dsp/room correction they are highly accurate and can perform more optimally than “audiophile” speakers, dac, and amp.  on the other hand, i have also heard the genelec dac and am-s can’t compare to purifi amps and top audiophile dacs.  any here with experience with both worlds know what the truth is?

am i better off with separate powered speakers for studio use and a separate audiophile speakers, dac and amps?

In my humble opinion, there are not such separations. A good speaker is a......good speaker! The Genelecs that you mentioned are best speakers, you will do no wrong to go for those as long as the speakers are suitable for the physical dimensions of your room. Add one or two subwoofers and you will not need anything else.

Don't know the purifi amps you're referring to.
hmm, maybe dis is true enough:
those genelecs will obliterate anything from a hi-fi store costing less than 20 grand.
Are there better systems? sure, but they start at triple the price.
Personally, as stellar as they are, I wouldn't outright recommend 8351 for audipophile use,
unless the compact size is a factor and you're listening pretty close up..
Older, warmer A/B amped models are otherwise maybe better for high end audio.
I got old 1037s that knock the socks off 8351 and 1237.

If you're room is big enough, I got 1237 that I should sell in central europe for like 5500€.
shouldn't have told ya that the 1037s are cheaper and better ;-)

My main listening system in my home is 8361a + w371 + 7380a, with an external streamer+DAC that is much nicer than needed (I somewhat regret spending so much on the DAC). It's in a room that is way, way too echo-y. However the genelecs perform absurdly well. I'd recommend this system to anyone, it performs extremely, extremely well. I expected to need to spend much more than this for the quality of sound, so I consider myself very lucky to have been "shown the way" by someone before spending more.

The only thing is for near-field is that there is some noise from the speaker while idle that you can hear <1m. I don't hear it at all while music is playing from this distance, and I certainly don't hear it even when idle from > 4m in the listening room. Just keep this in mind if it's say next to your computer monitor.

It's the Esoteric N-01XD: https://www.esoteric.jp/en/product/n-01xd/top . I like I said, overkill, but I'm glad I went with an external DAC of some kind.

Yes, they do perform absurdly well.
But if you put 8351/8361 side by side with 1037/1038b - 8 out of 8 people will prefer the warmer sound of a/b amped 103x. By much.
Sadly that's my sample, asking 10 more people probably wouldn't change much.
My life would also be easier if that weren't true, sigh.
