Genelec 83X0 AES/EBU without GLM kit?

Hi all,

I am looking at buying Genelec 8320s.  Is it possible use them with a non-Genelec digital controller with AES/EBU output, or must one buy the GLM kit to connect via AES/EBU?

Many thanks,

James

With digital only the GLM kit makes sense really.
If you feed aes/ebu, the only way to reduce volume is to lower the volume of the digital signal.
If you listen at 10%, there's not gonna be much signal left.
With GLM you always feed full signal and the volume control turns the amps inside the speaker up or down.
This also results in much improoved noise-floor.

Hi, @jas0_0 !

Lukester had good points about GLM and digital signal.

However, I would like to point out that our 8320A model has analog input only.

Ah nor it does.  I was confusing it with the larger models.  There goes that idea!

Many thanks.
