8331 with sub woofer or 8341

Hi there, I just replaced my good old Genelec 1030A monitors, which I used for 25 years now, with a pair of 8331 AP. What a difference! But I was wondering what would work best in my situation concerning the low end: adding a sub woofer to the 8331’s or get a pair of 8341’s which have more low end by them selves? I have a small studio and the distance from my ears to the monitors is about 90cm, so quite close to the speakers.

The 8341 will not give you the bass you need. For having a correct, full-range performance you need one (or two) 7350. The reason is well described here:  https://www.genelec.com/monitor-placement and here: https://www.genelec.com/correct-monitors and finally here: https://www.genelec.com/calibration-acoustics

My humble opinion is that the 8331 with 7350 and GLM are trully winners!

Did you end up getting a 7350A? I have an 8331A + 7350A setup for my workspace and it's perfect. Although I hadn't considered two of the subs like costakis suggests! I think for my purposes I'm okay with the one though.

I sure did and I'm very pleased with it. Just one 7350A I thinks is sufficiant in my room
